Back-to-back events in one night? Easy. Especially when they celebrate so much life and creativity!
First on the agenda: Josie Natori took us on a trip to the Orient.
At a private event at the Ayala Museum, she unveiled her Fall 2023 Collection of couture pieces and fine jewelry, the Orient Express, which was inspired by the opulence of its namesake married with their signature artisanship.
The collection featured luxe fabrics and iconic silhouettes like caftans, mandarin pants, kimono sleeves and more. Meanwhile, the jewelry featured lab-grown diamonds set in 14-karat gold, all showing a boldness in design aesthetic but still minimal and timeless — true to Natori.
I got the chance to meet the brilliant designer herself, and chatted with a few familiar faces over cocktails. But not long after, I had to be whisked away to my next stop!
For not too far a trip, we headed to the Balmori Tent in Rockwell — only it didn’t look like the same space. It was completely transformed into a living work of art with fabrics, art pieces and performers.
It was a true celebration of life for the two birthday celebrators: Kaye Tinga, the multifaceted business owner and one of Asia’s Most Stylish; and Yiouri Augousti, half of the duo behind the riveting universe of R+Y Augousti designs.
Kaye and Yiouri’s fabulous party was “art come to life” in many forms, all thanks to the brilliant minds of Kifu Augousti, Patrick Coard and their team. It featured five breathtaking acts with dramatic, thoughtfully designed scenes for the celebrators and their guests.
I could have stayed all night long! But along with the fabulous food and drinks, some good things must come to an end. I’m glad we got to enjoy it until midnight though.
Both equally engaging events, yet both unique experiences for me. I had a grand time and can’t wait for their next celebrations… or for another two-in-one night. You know me, I’ll always make time for a party! Cheers!
