Now it can be told: Belle Mariano nearly walked out of the taping of Can’t Buy Me Love.
The revelation came from Mariano’s leading man in the TV series, Donny Pangilinan, who recently shared a short video on Facebook.
According to Pangilinan, the scene had them together in a closet. Initially, there was a fake cockroach as a prop. But when the real cockroach was used, Mariano suddenly vanished from the closet.
“Nag-walkout siya in a good way. Alam naman nila na takot siya [sa ipis] (She walked out in a good way. They knew she’s scared of cockroaches),” Pangilinan said.
Now that the end is near for Can’t Buy Me Love, a lot of DonBelle fans are sad. Some of them expressed their sentiments online.
“Sana extended pa ang CBML pls. naku wala na kaming papanooran gabi gabi sa Netflix TV malungkot na nman ang life namin dito sa aming compound, yan lng ang aming pinapanood at sinusubaybayan ang CBML. avid fan talaga kami ng DonBelle ang galing nila umacting at bagay talaga silang dalawa Donny at Belle kinikilig kami sa kanila (Hope CBML is extended. Please, we won’t have a show to watch on Netflix TV, our life will be sad here in our compound, that is the only show we are watching and supporting. We are avid fans of DonBelle, they are good at acting and they look good together, we feel giddy for them),” said one fan.
“Bakit nman nalulungkot Ako, ilang episodes nlang to. Please wag nyo tapusin ang Can’t Buy Me Love, or pwede gawa kayo ulit teleserye na Donbelle ang Bida (Why am I sad? This is just a few episodes. Please don’t end Can’t Buy Me Love, or if make another soap opera with DonBelle as lead stars),” said another fan.
Anne Curtis admits being a flirt in her younger years
During a banter on It’s Showtime, Vice Ganda revealed that she initially had hesitations befriending her co-host, Anne Curtis.
“Kasi ‘di ko ito kaibigan,” Ganda said in a recent episode of their noontime show, referring to Curtis. “Akala ko ang harot-harot nito. Alam mo, dati hindi kita bet. Parang ang arte-arte mo. Feeling ko ang landi mo (She was not a friend then. I thought she was loud. You know, I didn’t like you then. You seemed very picky. I felt that you’re flirty).”
“Ganoon talaga. Malandi naman talaga ako (That’s it. I am really a flirt),” Curtis unabashedly admitted while laughing.
“Umamin na tayo. Noong bagets ako, siyempre may stage akong ganoon (Let’s admit it. When I was younger, of course I was in a stage like that),” she added.
Ganda went on sharing her observations on Curtis, “Ganoon ang tingin ko sa kanya. Ang arte-arte nito, malandi. Pero noong nakilala ko siya, maarte siya, suplada (That’s what I thought of her. She’s picky, flirty. But when I got to know her, she’s picky, snobbish).”
Incidentally, this Saturday’s episode of It’s Showtime will be very special because it marks not only the noontime show’s first airing on GMA 7’s free TV channel but also Vice Ganda’s post-birthday celebration.
