The trailer for the movie EDJOP was released last Sunday, 4 February, on Facebook and X, immediately triggering excitement among movie fans and showbiz watchers. 

In the 43-second teaser clip, Jodi Sta. Maria, who recently won Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Asian Academy Creative Awards, is seen driving as she recalls protests and tense moments during Martial Law.

The Apo Hiking Society’s iconic song ‘Panalangin’ plays throughout the trailer. At the end, the close-up photo of Elijah Canlas as slain student activist Edgar Jopson is flashed before the trailer goes to black. 

Canlas is set to portray Jopson, the president of the National Union of Students of the Philippines under the regime of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. 

GomBurZa star and 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actor Cedrick Juan is also part of the film. The rest of the cast is still under wraps, along with the film’s release date and other details.
