Actor Sang Heon Lee surprised Filipino fans by hinting at having a secret project with Julia Barretto in a series of Instagram stories.

On 18 January, he unexpectedly shared an Instagram story showing him with Barretto.

#secretproject,” he wrote.

The 27-year-old TV star also shared Instagram stories of himself enjoying Filipino street food kwek-kwek and lechon manok. Moreover, he also posted a story showing him eating “prop food” prepared on set.

“Normally I would never eat prop food but this was cooked fresh from a chef,” he shared.

Prior to Lee posting those Instagram stories, Barretto had already shared photos of her in chef’s attire while taking culinary classes at the Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts.

“Learning something new, for something new,” the 26-year-old actress shared.

Lee and Barretto also follow each other on Instagram.

Based on their posts, the two stars seem to be working on a culinary-themed project together. However, details of their “secret project” are still under wraps.

Lee rose to mainstream popularity in XO, Kitty, a spin-off series from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy. His portrayal of Min Ho in the romantic-comedy series got worldwide fans and viewers swooning over him.

On the big screen, Lee made his debut via the sports-drama film Gran Turismo, also starring Hollywood stars David Harbour and Orlando Bloom.

Meanwhile, Barretto gained wide recognition for starring in the films Vince & Kath & James (2016), Love You to the Stars and Back (2017) and Between Maybes (2019). Her most recent films include Bahay na Pula and Expensive Candy,  which were both released in 2022.

Barretto also plays the leading lady of top dramatic actor Aga Muhlach in the music-tinged romance film Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko, which is set to open in theaters on 7 February.
