Zephanie Dimaranan, dubbed as this generation’s pop princess, is recording another song for Disney.
The 20-year-old Sparkle artist will sing “Aking Hiling” for the Philippine release of the new Disney animated musical fantasy film Wish on 22 November.
“We are so proud of our very own Zephanie for being chosen to sing ‘Aking Hiling’! We can’t wait to hear the magical rendition!” Cornerstone Entertainment, Dimaranan’s talent management, said.
Dimaranan had previously performed Pinocchio’s “When You Wish Upon A Star” during the launch of Disney+ in 2022. In 2020, during her Grand Fans Day, Dimaranan also took on a Disney medley consisting of the songs “Part of Your World,” “For the First Time in Forever,” “Reflection” and “How Far I’ll Go.”
Wish, produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures, follows a 17-year-old girl named Asha who lives in the Kingdom of Rosas. She senses darkness that no one else can in the kingdom’s ruler King Magnifico. She then makes a wish so powerful that the cosmic force sends a ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star work to confront their most formidable foe and save Asha’s community.
Asha is voiced by Ariana DeBose, and King Magnifico by Chris Pine.
