Sinar Mas Land has achieved a significant milestone as the company recently inked a pivotal partnership with Samsung through its subsidiary, Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group. This collaboration aims to drive the development of smart cities in Indonesia.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Michael Widjaja (Group chief executive officer of Sinar Mas Land) and Oh Sechul (chief executive officer of Samsung C&T-E&C Group), as witnessed by Gandi Sulistiyanto (Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea) on 26 September at the Samsung C&T Headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.
Both companies plan to integrate collaboration in smart home technology, establish urban and IT infrastructure and apply new renewable energy technology.
BSD City, complemented with various facilities, infrastructure and easy access for all residents, has been developing since 1989. Sinar Mas Land transformed the township into an integrated smart digital city by utilizing technologies and capabilities from global technology companies. More than the high technology application, BSD City and other Sinar Mas Land projects are developed per ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) principles.

The group focuses on the following key areas: commercial and residential buildings, civil infrastructure and plant construction.
